What types of health issues do you deal with? I deal with many health issues with too many to list here. Please click on "Ailment/Treatment" for a list of the numerous health challenges that I treat and note that we are continually updating this.
Does Acupuncture hurt and if so, how bad? I would have to describe it as a "tingling" sensation or slight discomfort.... similar to shaving and "nicking" yourself. Please realize that the answer is not so simple because everyone's body and tolerance is different. With that said, I listen to my patient(s) and treat accordingly. The minimal amount of discomfort is dwarfed by the amount of relief.
How many treatments will I need? That is hard to say because every illness and person is different. There have been some patients that have become free of chronic pain after only a few treatments.
Will I need to take Herbal Medicine? Not everyone will need Herbal Medicine. That is determined once I diagnose and treat you.
What happens during the initial visit? I will perform a comprehensive evaluation and examination. It will last on average of 1 to 2 hours. During this time I will ask you questions and receive feedback from you. Additionally, some forms will need to be filled out. This timeframe is also dependent upon the patient and their medical challenge.
What happens during the Acupuncture session? You will be asked to lay still and remain quiet while I insert needles into the appropriate points of the body. Note that the placement of the needles may or may not be where the pain is. For example, I may insert the needle into your hand or foot even though the pain is in your shoulder.
